SLC (Student Led Conference) A student-led conference is basically the student inviting their parents to the class to share their learning journey. Communicating with parents has always been one of the most important aspects of teaching. Though the format may vary, these conferences differ from traditional conferences in that they place students at the helm of teacher-supported discussions with parents about student progress and learning. SLCs also often present opportunities for students to prepare, reflect on and discuss evidence of their learning and growth by way of student portfolios. On 7th of February 2018, Junior CC has arranged SLC in the playgroup to Grade 5 where all the parents were cordially invited to see the classroom performances of their children throughout the year. Whole Junior School was decorated nicely to welcome the parents. Students play the most vital role on SLC day.

 

Actually, they showcase their works to their parents what they themselves and subject teachers have chosen as the best work.

 

Apparently, students have to make their parents understand that why this work has been chosen as the best work. Basically, students play the role of a teacher to the parents on SLC. Besides, there were four stations (English Workstation, Bangla Corner, Science Corner, and Math Corner) in every class where there were some attractive activities for the parents what would be judged by the children. Moreover, Art Corner, Sports Corner, and Music Corner were also had several activities for the parents. Overall parents were really happy to see their children lead. Besides they had great fun to get the essence of their childhood back. Their feelings and interest would reflect on the reflection sheet what was provided at the end of SLC. The reflection station had the potential to be a powerful tool for feedback and communication. At length, though CC Junior arranged SLC for the first time, it was a great show where Junior CC met all the objectives of an SLC.
