LIGHTHOUSE IMPERIUM Foundation has invited CIDER International School for joining LIGHTHOUSE IMPERIUM Model UN Delegation at Asia Pacific Model United Nations Conference (AMUNC) 2016.This year the conference will be taking place in Kualalampur, Malaysia on the tentative dates from 10th July to 18th July and will be hosting the topmost institutions across Asia and Pacific to come under one platform through MUN. The venue of the conference is Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Conference is going to be addressed by Ban Ki Moon, the UN Secretary General himself and will also have speakers like Malala Yousafzai.
Model United Nations (MUN) is a series of programmes run throughout the country and the world with the goals of furthering understanding about the United Nations, educating participants about world issues and promoting peace and the work of the United Nations through cooperation and diplomacy. It develops leadership skills. It is an exercise in research, public speaking and teamwork. The students leverage their MUN experience throughout their career and MUN gives them a chance to practise these while they are students.
The value of the Model UN experience for a student is based on what benefits a student can gain from participation. Different kinds of talents can be developed by participation in Model UN conferences – including such skills as teamwork, expository and persuasive writing, debating and negotiation that are important for personal development and future success.
