Griffin is amalgamation of lion and eagle and is full with courage and boldness, and it is always treated as a powerful creature. It is used to denote strength and courage and leadership.

Our symbol is a legendary creature with the body, tail and back-legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle; and an eagle’s talons as its front feet. In its body, the griffin is blessed with the speed, flight, and penetrating vision of the eagle and the strength, courage, and majesty of the lion. And therefore, as the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle was the king of the birds, the Griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature.

Griffins are known for guarding treasure and priceless possessions. They have always been watchful and loyal, graceful and swift, prodigious and implacable, colossal and divine. Griffin is the symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine.

Griffins are closely connected to the Greek god Apollo, the god of both night and day, music, magic and other minor traits. In Griffin House, we have the best musician in the school, also some of the best players in sports and upcoming talents not only in academics, but covering all other extracurricular activity fields.

On the other hand, Griffin House is also taking initiatives in order to aid the improvement of the own house and therefore the school. For instance, we intend to start a football league for the school, as well as organizing fundraising activity such as bake sales, which will fund various trips for the students, including but not limited to sending delegates for Model UN. Also to note, the very first MUN club of Cider was co-founded by the captain of Griffin House in association with the captain of Phoenix House.
