CIDER International School is glad to inform that CIDER is affiliated with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh, The National Award Authority in Bangladesh.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a noncompetitive and balanced self-developing programme for young people aged between14-24 and was established in the UK in 1956 by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Philip). As it is the world’s leading youth achievement award, it will enable the students of CIDER to develop practical skills, behaviours and attitudes valued by employers globally.

Young people need experiences outside the classroom to equip themselves for future endeavour. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award will improve their readiness for work and confidence.

Including Bangladesh about 144 Countries are having opportunities as well as facilities of this Award Programme. To date, over 10 million young people have completed their Award over the world. It is in Bangladesh since 2008 and 56 more prominent institutions of the country are running this programme being affiliated with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh, The National Award Authority in Bangladesh.

The Award is comprised of three levels and four sections. Participants complete all four sections at each level in order to achieve their Award. At Gold level, participants also complete a Residential Project.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award will provide platform for all-round development of youths and to provide opportunity to challenge themselves through leisure activities and voluntary services through which hidden abilities can be enlightened and a special sense of satisfaction with achievement can be tested.
